An inspiring initiative that brings together talent, dedication, and the strength of family, the “National Gala of Talented Children from Large Families” will be organized by the Romanian Large Families Association (ASFANU) on May 1, 2026, at Wonderland Resort in Cluj-Napoca.

Children aged 6 to 18, coming from families with three or more children across the country, have the opportunity to take part in this unique competition, designed to highlight their creativity and talents in a wide range of fields, including music, dance, visual arts, sports, science, and other special skills.On May 1, 2026, their talent will be celebrated on stage at Wonderland Resort Cluj Napoca, where the finalists will have the opportunity to perform in front of an audience and receive the recognition they truly deserve.

This year’s edition has reached a remarkable milestone: 146 children and teenagers (aged 6–18) coming from families with 3 to 11 children from 20 counties have entered the competition. Their talents span across multiple disciplines that reflects not only the richness of talent, but also the opportunities that grow and flourish within large families. Participants will be evaluated by a distinguished jury of public figures and professionals from Romania: Elvira Deatcu (actress and mother of 2 children), Calin Goia (musician and father of 3 children), Ioana Mârza (entrepreneur and mother of 4 chidren), Laura Cosoi (actress and mother of 4 children and expecting the 5^th), and Adriana Scripcariu (artist and mother of six). Their mission is to select 21 winners, each of whom will receive multiple prizes, including financial awards, products, and access to online workshops focused on mentoring and personal development.

Why this Gala matters

The event takes place in a challenging demographic context. With only 157,270 births recorded in Romania in 2024, the declining birth rate is an increasing concern. At the same time, the more than 314,000 households with three or more children in Romania remain a vital pillar of stability, contributing significantly to the country’s demographic balance.

Through this Gala, ASFANU brings much-needed visibility to these families and highlights the extraordinary potential of their children.
