International Conference: Shift Towards a Family-Friendly Europe

The Maria Kopp Institute for Demography and Families and the Three Princes, Three Princesses Foundation will host a conference in Budapest on 29-30 April 2019 entitled: “Shift Towards a Family-friendly Europe” supported by the Minister of State for Family and Youth Affairs.
The aim of the Conference is to bring together representatives of international organizations, companies, academia, civil society, municipalities, media and policy makers in order to share information about different family-friendly initiatives and discuss thepossible ways of improvement of family policies in a holistic manner aiming the strengthening of family in Europe.
The Maria Kopp Institute for Demography and Families as a think tank was founded by the Hungarian Government to carry out domestic and international policy analyses and research that can serve as a basis for measures on family policy and population affairs. It aims at contributing to the family-friendly, harmonious functioning of society, cultivating the heritage of Professor Maria Kopp, who carried out multifaceted work for the Hungarian society and the family for decades, and has founded the Hungarian Population Round Table. The Three Princes, Three Princesses Foundation is a widely admitted family organisation in Hungary, which was established by professor Maria Kopp in 2009. The name is a reference to fairy tales, where the heroes are often third-born princes or princesses. The aim of the Foundation is to support young adults in accomplishing their dreams of having children. The organisation pays special attention to changing attitudes, to community building, to professional and scientific activities and to supporting decision makers. One of the most important achievement of the Foundation is the Family-friendly Company of the Year Award. The aim of the award is to recognize those SMEs and large companies that support families on a daily basis in having and raising children, support their employees having children and let them achieve a healthy balance of life and work.
