At the initiative of Romanian Large Families Association (ASFANU), the Municipality of Brașov has approved the Large Family Certificate, marking a significant step toward more family-friendly local policies.
The decision was unanimously adopted by the Brașov Local Council on November 28, 2025 following ASFANU’s sustained advocacy and formal proposal.

Starting January 1 2026, families with three or more children from Brasov will be entitled to a 50% discount for two visits per year to some of Brașov’s most important public institutions, including the Zoo, theatre, opera, philharmonic, ice rink, and public sports facilities. As a result, over 1,500 large families in Brașov will have more affordable access to cultural and recreational life in the city.
Beyond the concrete advantages, this decision sends a clear message to large families in Brașov: their choice matters, their efforts are valued, and the investment they make in their children strengthens the entire community.
This achievement is the result of a true community effort. It shows that when families come together and stand up for their rights, meaningful change becomes possible. United voices can shape policies, build more inclusive communities, and create a stronger future for families.
