3plus Gift Campaign Completed

The third gift campaign, which marked the arrival of the new kindergarten and school year, is behind Croatian Large Families Association “Obitelji 3plus“. In order to make preparations easier for parents and to share the joy of new beginnings, for the third year in a row Croatian Large Families Association “Obitelji 3plus“ is organizing a prize giveaway in the month of August. This year’s campaign under the slogan “The new school year is getting closer, help is coming from Family 3plus” was realized in cooperation with donors and partner companies of our Family Card. We cheered up our first graders with new school bags, kindergarteners with slippers for kindergarten and picture books for fun and learning, and schoolchildren with sets of notebooks for the new school year.

The companies Froddo, Evenio, Fido and Lipa Mill participated in the campaign, and we would like to thank them for their support!

Promotional activities for better living conditions for families in the City of Zagreb

Croatian Large Families Association “Obitelji 3plus“ disagreed with the limitation that only two children from one family can use the City of Zagreb Scholarship for Excellence.

The City of Zagreb supports education and rewards students’ excellence, however, according to the terms of the Competition for the Award of the City of Zagreb Scholarship for Excellence to Students for the 2023/2024 school year, only two children from one family can use the scholarship.

This condition leads to discrimination against children who come from larger families. Namely, if several children from one family deserve this scholarship through their efforts and work, we believe that it is unfair to deny them equal right to the award just because of the number of children in their family. Each child should be evaluated based on their own achievements and potential, regardless of family circumstances.

Education is the foundation for the future success of every individual, and rewarding excellence is an important motivational factor. By limiting the number of scholarships per family, those who have more children are de facto punished. This sends a message that the effort and work of each child is not valued equally, which is not in the spirit of fairness and equality.

Therefore, we asked to consider this condition and provide all excellent students with an equal opportunity for a scholarship, regardless of the number of children in their family. We believe that such a change would have a positive effect on the motivation and achievements of all students who apply for the scholarship.
