Study visit of Croatian association Obitelji 3plus to the Hungarian association of large families NOE

On 8 March 2024, the Board and Staff of the Croatian Association of Large Families (Obitelji 3plus), including newly elected President Dr. Kristian Jambrošić, visited the office of NOE in Budapest and the Maria Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS).

Katalin Kardosne Gyurko, President of the Association of Large Families in Hungary (NOE) and Kinga Joó, Advisor to the President, gave them a tour of the office and a short presentation on the history of NOE, how it operates and some good practices in the provision of services and advocacy work of the Association. They exchanged experiences and learned about good practices.

NOE was founded in 1987 with the aim of correcting general misconceptions about large families and fighting for measures that help families with children. Today NOE has around 16,000 family members and seven regional centers throughout Hungary.

They also visited the Maria Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS), founded by the Hungarian government in 2018. The institute works with the aim of promoting and supporting families in having children, providing support for families to grow and finding solutions to demographic challenges in their country. The Vice President of the Árpád Institute József Mészáros welcomed Croatian representatives and gave them a comprehensive overview of the Hungarian family policy system, highlighting its measures to support large families.
