ASPE (Large Families Confederation of Greece) had a meeting with the president of the New Democracy party, winner of the elections and former Prime Minister

The Executive Board of ASPE, the Supreme Confederation of the multi-child parents of Greece, met with the former Prime Minister Mr Kyriakos Mitsotakis and winner of the 1st round of the national elections a few weeks ago. The 2nd round is scheduled for June 25th, 2023.

The request submitted by ASPE since 2019 for the establishment of a Ministry of the Family will be made a reality by the new Government of the ND, explained the President of Kyriakos Mitsotakis in a meeting he had with the members of the Executive Committee of ASPE and the Head of the Research Laboratory of Social Administration of the University of West Attica- the scientific advisor of ASPE.

Mr. K. Mitsotakis said that “we will examine with great care what you submitted to us” and committed to “jointly [with ASPE] drawing up a National strategy for the family and the demographic issue of the country”, which the new Ministry will prepare, in which ASPE’s requirements will find their position and the issues that concern those with many children.

Also important was the assurance for the implementation of the new special reduced electricity tariff for families with many children by the next government, because the Constitutional Court of the State annulled as unconstitutional the abolition of the special tariff for families with many children, following an appeal by ASPE.

The meeting closed with the assurance of the continuation of cooperation and communication between the two sides after the 2nd round of elections and the establishment of the new Government for the benefit of multi-child / large families as well as all the families of the country.
