The XIV Polish Convention of Large Families made history in Lipno

For three unforgettable days, Lipno County became the heart of Poland’s large-family community as it hosted the XIV National Convention of Large Families. The event brought together hundreds of families from across the country to relax, strengthen relationships, discuss important social issues, and celebrate the value of family life.

More than 600 members of the Union of Large Families “Three Plus” participated in this year’s Convention, including an impressive 320 children. In total, 110 families traveled from different regions of Poland to take part in this unique gathering.

The Convention was honored by the presence of many distinguished guests. Among them was First Lady Marta Nawrocka, whose words beautifully captured the essence of parenthood:

“I am a mother of three myself, and I know that parenthood is often higher mathematics: it means multiplying joys, dividing difficulties, and sometimes adding responsibilities.”

It would be difficult to find a more fitting description of family life—especially in large families.

Other notable guests included Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Krzysztof Bosak and his wife, who actively participated not only in the socio-economic panel discussions but also in the outdoor activities organized for Convention participants. Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyka once again emphasized the importance of promoting a culture that values family, describing it as the foundation of a strong nation.

The event also welcomed Deputy Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Małgorzata Baranowska, whose invitation helped bring the Convention to the heart of Poland. Joining the discussions were Barbara Socha, Advisor to the President of Poland on family policy, social affairs, and demographic challenges; MP Andrzej Gut-Mostowy, Chairman of the Parliamentary Team for Large Families; numerous local government representatives; and experts from the worlds of science and culture.

Throughout the debates and panel discussions, one message resonated clearly: a family is a community, not merely a collection of individual taxpayers. Participants emphasized that raising children should be recognized as an investment in Poland’s future and that motherhood and fatherhood deserve greater appreciation and social recognition.

During the Convention, the Union of Large Families “Three Plus” presented several policy proposals it has been developing in recent months. These included a draft law supporting very large families, tax reforms, a housing voucher program, a parental pension initiative, and broader measures aimed at strengthening marriage and family life through state policy.

A solemn highlight of the panel was the presentation of the “Family-Friendly Local Government” Certificate to Tatra County, which became the second local government in Poland to receive this distinction, accepted on behalf of the county by Vice Starost Wawrzyniec Bystrzycki. This is a special honor awarded by the Association of Large Families “Three Plus” to local governments that stand out for their family-oriented, pro-family policies and best practices

Lipno County: A Truly Family-Friendly Place

The choice of Lipno County as the host location was no coincidence.

County Governor Krzysztof Baranowski demonstrated that local communities in Poland can be modern, ambitious, and genuinely supportive of families. The warm hospitality extended to participants made the event even more memorable.

The spiritual culmination of the Convention was a solemn Thanksgiving Mass celebrated in Skępe and led by Bishop Mirosław Milewski.

The Convention was not only inspiring but also deeply family-oriented. It reflected the true spirit of the large-family community—strong not only in numbers but also in relationships. Families enjoyed kayaking, pedal boating, workshops, concerts, time at the beach, and long evening conversations. Yet beyond the recreational activities, it was the meaningful discussions and shared experiences that left a lasting impact.

The Union of Large Families “Three Plus” extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participating families, volunteers, guests, and organizers who contributed to the success of this remarkable event.

Special thanks go to Lipno County for its extraordinary hospitality and commitment to supporting families.

The organizers also express their appreciation to media partners—including Katolicka Agencja Informacyjna (KAI), Gość Niedzielny, and Polsat—for helping share a positive and inspiring story about family life in Poland.

Particular thanks are due to the Convention’s General Partner, PKP Intercity, which has supported large families for another consecutive year and continues to encourage family travel across Poland. The organizers also thank the Uskrzydlamy Social Development Foundation and the Polish Security Printing Works (PWPW) for their longstanding support, trust, and partnership.

As participants returned home, they carried with them renewed energy, stronger bonds, and a shared conviction that together they can accomplish even more.

The XIV National Convention of Large Families was not only a celebration of family life—it was a powerful reminder that strong families build strong communities and a stronger Poland.
