ASPE and the Economic Chamber of Greece sign a memorandum of cooperation

The ageing and declining population are inhibiting factors for Greece’s economic growth. To this end, the Economic Chamber of Greece (ECG) and ASPE, the Supreme Confederation of Large Families of Greece, a 40-years old member of COFACE, signed on the 24th of October 2022, a memorandum of cooperation.

The memorandum provides that the synergies that will be developed between the two bodies can be achieved through joint actions, such as studies, conferences, proposals to the Government, and awareness-raising actions.

ECG President Konstantinos Kollias declared: “The importance of the demographic problem is more than a given. At the Economic Chamber of Greece we highlight this issue and our cooperation with ASPE will contribute greatly to the direction of formulating proposals to the government, parties, and organizations, in order to achieve the best possible result in the formulation of appropriate policies”.

The President of ASPE, Vassilios Theotokatos, stated: “The long-term contribution to society, the strong scientific staff that both bodies have, in combination with their experiences, in matters of demographic and family policy the former and economy the latter, will benefit the goals they pursue and will benefit the State and society in general”.

Family friendly taxation policy has been defined as the first field of cooperation between the two bodies.
