ELFAC talked on family perspective at the Digital Innovation Summit in Bucharest

Regina Maroncelli, president of ELFAC, was invited to talk in the panel “Approaching Digital Society”

At the Digital Innovation Summit taking place in Bucharest on 17 April 2024, Regina Maroncelli asked a provocative question: “What does a mother of four look for at a summit on digitalization and innovation? The answer is simple: The family perspective must be integrated into every aspect of our lives, and digitalization is part of our family life.”

Among all the responsibilities and obligations we have as parents of 3 or more children, digitalization is the one that came into our lives with both benefits such as online education, flexible work or financial savings, but also with challenges, such as online security or the differences in adaptation to technology between generations.

In the context of these complexities, the Romanian Large Families Association ASFANU signed together with ELFAC President the Civil Society Declaration for the 30th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family. The document outlines a collaborative plan with the United Nations to support families to overcome the digital gap, combat the impact of climate change, recognise the value of unpaid care work and adapt to changing demographic dynamics.

Every step towards this change is important. Together we can build a better future for all families, especially for larger families.
