The Association of Large Families of Catalonia awarded the best companies of the year in 14 different economic sectors

On 28 November at an event held in Barcelona, jointly organised by the Association of Large Families of Catalonia (FANOC) and the Catalunya-UN Platform for the Family, and chaired by Carles Campuzano, Minister of Social Rights of the Government of Catalonia.

The event began with a memorial dedicated to Cecília Bosch, who was the founder of the Escó Foundation, an organisation that supports families at risk of social exclusion in the Raval neighbourhood and its surroundings in Barcelona.

Carles Campuzano, Minister of Social Rights of the Government of Catalonia, gave a lecture in which he highlighted the importance of the third sector for the welfare of families. He also referred to the law that is being processed in the Parliament of Catalonia to strengthen the service provided by third sector organisations, which are key ‘to building community’. Campuzano also highlighted the serious problem that Catalonia has with the birth rate, one of the lowest in the world, and the need for policies that help people to see children as a value, not a problem. He announced that the guaranteed citizenship income is about to be reformed to, among other improvements, include more large families, a group that is currently not effectively reached.

The best companies of the year for large families

At the awards ceremony for the best companies of the year 2023, Emilia Tarifa, President of FANOC, highlighted the work carried out by the association to ensure that large families have access to discounts in all sectors, which means significant help and savings, with the idea that “being more costs less”. The Minister Carles Campuzano accompanied him at the presentation of the awards.
