From 19-23 July 2006, the 3rd European Conference took place, with a complementary program of activities for families and children.
The theme of the conference was “Family – Future a Global Europe”.
Jose Manuel Durao Barroso, President of the European Commission, sent a speech to the participants, which was read out during the conference. Three main topics were discussed: the different family policies in Europe, home ecomonics, and the education of children.
In addition to the conferences, there was a full programme of cultural and children’s activities: sand castle competition, craft workshops, cycling, theatre performances, fireworks and folk dancing.
There was also a cultural visit to Pannonhalma Abbey.
